A New Dining Experience from Elon Musk
Elon Musk has always been known for his unconventional and innovative approach to business, from flamethrowers to hot pants. Now, the billionaire is stepping into the world of fast food with his very first diner, positioning himself against big names like McDonald's, Wendy's, and IHOP.
The Tesla Diner is described as a "retro-futuristic diner and drive-in charging experience." Located in Hollywood, California, it combines a classic American diner with a modern twist. The diner offers over 250 seats for dining, with a menu that ranges from $7 cinnamon rolls to $10 salads. It also features two 66ft LED megascreens outside where guests can enjoy movies while relaxing.
An attendee shared incredible footage on X showing a Tesla Optimus robot serving popcorn to diners. The location is not just about food; it’s also a Supercharging station along the historic Route 66 highway. This makes it accessible to both Tesla and non-Tesla drivers.
Features and Offerings
The Tesla Diner is situated on Santa Monica Boulevard, one of the main roads through West Hollywood. Open 24/7, it aims to attract both Tesla and non-Tesla drivers. Outside, there's the largest urban Supercharging station in the world, featuring 80 V4 Supercharger stalls. Solar canopies provide shade to the west charging lot, reducing the site's carbon emissions by about 26.6 million pounds of CO2 per year, making charging more sustainable.
Inside, the diner is split across two levels. The lower level houses the main serving area, while the upper level, called the "Skypad," allows diners to enjoy views of Los Angeles or watch movies on the megascreens. Guests can place their orders in advance or upon arrival through their vehicle's touchscreen or dine inside.

The menu is divided into six sections: breakfast, burgers & sandwiches, kids' menu, sides, desserts, and beverages. Some highlights include:

For those not feeling hungry, visitors can opt to watch a movie on one of the two huge LED megascreens. They can view from the Skypad or from their Tesla vehicle cabin using the Tesla Diner app. To find out what's playing next, check your Tesla vehicle's touchscreen.
Additional Amenities
Before leaving, visitors can stop by the gift shop to purchase exclusive merchandise. This includes a Tesla Bot action figure, a Hollywood Retro Diner T-shirt, Tesla gummy sweets, and a Tesla Diner trucker hat.
Although the diner only opened its doors recently, it has already generated significant attention on social media. Many users are eager to visit, with one tweeting, "These need to be everywhere," while another said, "This is the coolest place in LA ATM. Will definitely become a tourist attraction IMO."
However, not everyone is enthusiastic about Musk's latest venture. One user expressed concern about neighbors whose views are blocked by the giant screens, writing, "I feel sorry for those who live in the neighboring building and have had all possibility of seeing anything outside their homes blocked." Another commented, "Imagine living in one of those apartments facing it."
Some critics also pointed out the lack of plant-based options in a city like Los Angeles, with one saying, "Even the avocado toast has eggs in the bread and the fries are cooked in beef. Had to pass unfortunately."
